Calling people childish for wishing there were more original movies and more advertising for original movies and spending every single post arguing how people should just shut up and find movies on their own. Your attitude says that to me, even if you did not mean it.
I dont go on bookdatabase or gamesdatabase or sofadatabase and take all the new books/games/sofas released that day. I usually watch reviews from people i trust and any that have caught my eye from people talking about them online, eg recently released threads. After which I add it to a list to check it out later. As in reminder that word of mouth advertising is advertising and you are complaining about it.
You know why? You would if you checked new movie/whatever releases. It is cause 90-99% of new releases are shit. And again i don’t know a single fucking person who sits in the new releases one and spends hundreds every day watching films (that may not even available in their region) in order to “not be someone influenced by marketing, word of mouth or otherwise” cause that is insane.
Things that don’t get advertised might as well not exist.
nobody advertising originals means nobody will see them since they might sa well not exist. Not everyones browser home page is the imdb released today list. Basically nobodies is. Most people are casual viewers. I’d say its very good casual viewer is getting exhausted of capeshit or sequels and wants something new. Unless you want only films people see to be disney cashgrabs or marvel copy pastes, I don’t see why you complain people bringing attention to different films, especially ones not from hollywood.
Flesh - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13403046/ it was pretty disturbing but overall a nice film with a bit of comedy about how it feels to be a woman dating. Now thinking back on it, there seems to be a very strong mcu influence with trying to sprinkle in comedy.
Suncoast - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13650742/ A very good emotional film about coming to an age and dealing with loss. Acting was solid and it was interesting to see the constant fighting between adulthood of a kid in a shitty situation and the last days of her remaining childhood.
Maxxine - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt22048412/ An a24 slasher/horror about the horrors of aging, fun semi-mindless slasher that is visually authentic.
Yeah, it’s a hobby for many. There is just too many good movies everyone should see that you can’t get through them all.

Not really. Take a step back and you realize most popular movies are recycled ips and marvel or sequels. If people wanted original stories we wouldn’t be on 90th marvel movie and 20th john wick.

None of them are original, all of them are at best small iterations upon previous few. Majority of the people don’t seem to want something great and different. They want something safe and good-enough.
Cause marvel taught them marvel movies are the only movies worth a damn by consistently making 100 mediocre movies that are not terrible. Exactly like fast food.

I liked nublade but og is just a really shitty detective movie. Groundbreaking and fundamental for concept art industry and sci fi but as a movie meh.
I also found cabin in the woods to be meh. Like it wasn’t bad but didn’t live up to the hype.

Starwars, marvel and other slop is completely inescapable even of you avoid info on movies alltogether. Thats why people feel there are no original movies. I understand you have a pet peeve and may have been just venting but nobody was complaining, you just barged in and complained that the thread talking about original movies exists.
