The Channel name and key are auto set by choosing the ShortFast LoRa preset. Once there are enough people we can start state topics.
I converted a spare node toward your effort! All my other nodes are currently LongFast though. My area is just too sparse for anything else right now.
As there are more nodes, there will be more locations in which Shortfast has people broadcasting. During band openings, you might even start seeing people over RF instead of over MQTT.
True. Honestly most of the issues in my area are LOS. We have maybe a dozen nodes on LongFast in my town but no stable connections. Working on getting my own node up higher, but we’ll see.
We dont have many here, but shortfast is like 10x faster than LongFast and can handle many more connections.
